WEATHER FORECAST
The winds will blow strong this afternoon in Newport-Mesa on this
partly cloudy day. Highs will top out in the mid-60s while lows will
bottom out at about 50.
Similar conditions are expected on Thursday and the sun will shine
again come Friday and this weekend. Highs should be in the mid to upper
60s.

BOATING FORECAST
A small craft advisory and heavy surf advisory is expected today. In
the inner waters, the northwesterly winds will blow 20 to 25 knots this
afternoon, with 2- to 4-foot waves and a west swell of 8 to 12 feet.
Later, the winds will pick up to 20 to 30 knots, with 3- to 5-foot waves.
Out farther, the northwesterly winds will blow 25 to 35 knots early
before increasing to 30 to 40 knots. The combined seas will be 12 to 16
feet early before building to 14 to 18 feet this afternoon. Tonight, the
northwesterly winds will continue blowing strong, with continued combined
seas of 14 to 18 feet.
SURF
The strong northwest swell will bring chest- to shoulder-high waves.
Thursday’s looking even larger with head-highs the norm. Friday should be
similar and it should back down this weekend.
