This is regarding a hotel on the Marinapark location (“Drumming up
support for a Marinapark resort,” Feb. 10).
Steven Sutherland says he will have better beach access to the beach.
You cannot have better beach access than it is today. There is access at
18th and 16th streets now where he would have a hotel in the way, and
people are not going to go through a hotel to get to a beach. There will
be less access to the beach.
He says he will convince other residents that this is the best use of
the property.
This will increase traffic, he says no. There will have to be at least
50 employees to man this hotel. They will be coming and going at all
times of the day and night; he says he will have trams or buses to
transport these employees, but that’s so much hot air. There will be
delivery trucks coming and going at all hours of the day and night.
He will try to convince other voters of the city that this is just
another trailer park to be removed.
I would like all voters to come down and look at Marinapark; it is a
very nice mobile home park and nothing like what most of the public sees
along Coast Highway.
