Community college women’s tennis: Pirates shut out El Camino

COSTA MESA - The Orange Coast College women’s tennis team swept
through visiting El Camino for a 9-0 nonconference victory Wednesday.
The Pirates (3-2) won four singles matches and received two singles
victories by forfeit. They also won one out of the three doubles matches
by forfeit.
OCC’s No. 1 singles player, Veronica Sommer, defeated Kim Coulson,
6-0, 6-1, while Pirates Stephanie Chang, Kristen Lawson and Tracy Vaiuso
also earned victories.
OCC will resume action at the Southwestern Tournament, which plays
Friday through Monday.

won by forfeit.
