CORONA DEL MAR - Corona del Mar High’s host Sea Kings were 14-2
winners over nonleague visitor Dana Hills Monday as they tuned up for
Wednesday’s invasion of Laguna Beach in their Pacific Coast League
opener.
Corona, which ran its record to 8-2 with the breather, made it look
easy, as well as a mockery of the final score. It was 10-1 at the end of
the first quarter.
Christina Hewko and Brittney Bowlus each scored three goals in the
first quarter and Daniela DiGiacomo and Danielle Carlson each scored
twice.
DiGiacomo, Bowlus and Jessica Harkins scored in the second quarter to
up the lead to 13-1 at halftime as Coach Aaron Chaney unloaded his bench
very early.
Hewko finished with three goals, three assists and two steals. Bowlus
had four goals and two steals. DiGiacomo had three goals, an assist and
three steals. Carlson had two goals, an assist and a steal.
Jessica Harkins had two goals and two steals, Hayley Sheets had two
