Girls basketball: Mustangs win

Rhondi Naff scored a game-high 28 points to lead Costa Mesa High to

a 54-45 consolation victory over Fontana in the Artesia girls basketball

tournament Saturday.

Senior Jasmine Grewal added a career-high 12 points for the Mustangs

(3-7). Christine Caron chipped in with six points and Rickell Reeves

scored four for Costa Mesa.

The Mustangs led by three points at halftime, but outscored Fontana,

17-12, in the third quarter to gain some distance.

Fontana falls to 3-8. The Mustangs host the Costa Mesa Tournament next

and will play Brethren Wednesday at 8 p.m.
