Boys basketball: Sea Kings routed

CORONA DEL MAR - Visiting Fallbrook High outscored Corona del Mar
in every quarter to claim a 67-38 nonleague boys basketball triumph
Friday night, but that might not be the worst news for the Sea Kings.
Sophomore point guard Jay Northridge suffered a knee injury when a
Fallbrook player fell on his leg in a scramble for a loose ball and CdM
Coach Ryan Curry said ligament damage remains a possibility.
“We’ll have to see how it looks after the swelling goes down,” Curry
said.
CdM junior Kevin Mancillas had 14 of his team-high 16 points before halftime, including four three-pointers, but Fallbrook, which Curry said
was very strong defensively, adjusted and limited his scoring chances in
the final two quarters.
Fallbrook converted six three-pointers.
CdM (3-9) returns to action Wednesday, when it meets Mayfair at 2 p.m.
in the first round of the Estancia Coast Classic at Estancia High.
