Watch the Sugarplum Fairy dance. Ballet Pacifica’s run of “The

Nutcracker” will be staged through Monday at the Irvine Barclay Theatre,

Provoke your mind. The Orange County Museum of Art will present an F.

Scott Hess series of 24 metaphorical paintings titled “The Hours of the

Day” through Jan. 6 at the museum, 850 San Clemente Drive, Newport Beach.

Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. $5 for adults,
