Newport Beach residents are invited to attend a preliminary meeting of
the Newport Coast Advisory Committee at 5:30 p.m. today. Though the City
Council postponed until its Jan. 8 meeting a vote to create the
committee, the already scheduled meeting of the advisory committee will
still take place. Nominees to the committee, city officials and other
community members will participate.
The committee will advise the city on the details of annexing Newport
Coast into Newport Beach, including the question of whether to build a
community center there. The meeting will take place in the multipurpose
room at Newport Coast Elementary School, at the corner of Vista Ridge and
Newport Coast Drive. Information: (949) 644-3002.
