The city environmental board will decide tonight if the Environmental
Impact Report prepared on the proposed Hearthside Homes development of
Bolsa Chica is complete.
Three of the eight environmental board members have studied the report
prepared by a county consultant to determine if all possible impacts were
considered, said Ricky Ramos, an associate planner for the city.
They will then vote on whether or not to make suggestions and present
their decision to the planning department.
The project proposed by Hearthside Homes is for the construction of
387 single-family homes, an underground reservoir and 29-acres of
recreation and conservation open space on 106-acres of the Bolsa Chica
Mesa.
The environmental impact report must consider all possible impacts of
a project on its surrounding environment, including impacts on traffic
and pollution.
The environmental board will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Central
Library room E, 7111 Talbert Ave.
