College men’s basketball: Vanguard fall to Kingsmen, 82-71

THOUSAND OAKS - The Vanguard University men’s basketball team was a
victim of long distance shooting, as host Cal Lutheran nailed 13
three-pointers, 9 of 12 (75%) in the second half, en route to a 82-71
nonconference victory Thursday.
Vanguard forward Damion Morbley led the Lions (2-7) with 25 points,
while Tommy Stankan (16 points), Garid Beeler (14) and Ian Boys (11) also
posted double figures.
The Kingsmen (4-1) opened the second half with a 26-10 run in the the
first 8:48 to overcome a 43-37 deficit.
