Vanguard falls, 74-55

Concordia University’s undefeated women’s basketball team added
visting Vanguard University to its nine-game winning streak as Eagles
captured a 74-55 Golden State Athletic Conference victory Saturday night.
It was 12-12 through the first seven minutes of play, but from there
Concordia went on an 18-2 run.
The deficit for Vanguard continued to mount until Concordia had a
23-point edge before Vanguard cut it to 50-33 at halftime.
Maree Vincent led Concordia with 25 points, hitting 10 of 10 free
throw attempts, eight assists and seven rebounds. She had 17 points at
halftime.
The Lions, 2-4, 1-2 in the GSAC, were led by Kelly Boeke, who scored
21 points and had nine rebounds. Robbin Dittenbir added 11 points before fouling out.
Corcordia is 9-0, 3-0.
Vanguard returns to the floor on Tuesday when the Lions host Westmont
in a GSAC game, starting at 5:30.
