Boys water polo: CdM’s Dorr, Mann PCL Co-MVPs

Corona del Mar High juniors Artie Dorr and John Mann, who led the
Sea Kings to their third straight Pacific Coast League and CIF Southern
Section Division II titles, have been named PCL Co-Most Valuable Players
by the circuit’s coaches.
Dorr, a two-meter man who was first-team All-PCL as a sophomore, led
the team with 62 goals and 32 assists and added 34 steals.
Mann produced 60 goals, 20 assists and 39 steals to help Coach John
Vargas’ Sea Kings finish 24-3.
CdM seniors Michael March and Sherwin Kim were also first-team picks,
while seniors Bobby Messenger and Marcello Pantuliano were second-team
honorees.
March, a repeat first-team selection, posted 48 goals, 24 assists and
46 steals.
Kim, who split time in goal most of the season, collected 134 saves,
13 assists and 20 steals. Kim was second-team all-league last fall.
Pantuliano amassed a team-high 72 steals and added 29 goals and 29
assists, while Messenger, a repeat second-team honoree, contributed 29
goals, 16 assists and 15 steals.
