Local surfers will have something to give thanks for this holiday.
A strong northwest swell moving in today should bring in plenty of
tall waves for them to ride, said Surfline forecaster Chris Borg.
The biggest swells will be today with waves rising up to 10 feet in
some areas in Huntington Beach and North Newport near the jetty, he said.
“The wind should also die down by [today],” Borg said. “So we should
have good weather and clean surfing conditions for Thanksgiving Day.”
He said occasional swells like these can be expected throughout the
winter.
“It’s usually the pattern for this time of year,” Borg said.
