o7 In the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the East
Coast, organizations and city-funded departments in Newport-Mesa are
raising funds. This list, which will run occasionally, includes some of
those.f7
* Proceeds from “The Spirit of America,” a show performed by Ensign
Intermediate School students today and Saturday, will be donated to the
families of New York firefighters who died rescuing victims from the
terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
* “The Best of Italy Wine Dinner” will raise funds for families
affected by the Sept. 11 attacks. The five-course meal at Dolce in
Newport Beach features a sampling of a different Italian vintage wine
with each course beginning at 7 p.m. Nov. 28. All proceeds will be
donated to families of the attack victims. Cost is $95 per person plus
tax and gratuity and reservations are required. Dolce is at 800 W. Coast

* Anyone interested in sending money to victims of the attacks in New
York may contribute to a box placed by Costa Mesa city employees --
police, fire and the Pavilion Assn. -- on the front desk of the city’s
Police Department. You may also mail your contributions to the city of
