The Marina High athletic department will present pro wrestling’s
“Throw Down at Marina” Friday beginning at 7:30 p.m. Professional
wrestlers from the American Wrestling Federation will be on hand to
perform such stunts as the people’s elbow, choke slams and tombstone.
Performers including Ric Drasin, professionally known as, “The
Equalizer,” The Ballard Brothers and Shane 54 will be part of a six-match
evening. Drasin once trained with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno and
Joe Weider. Also featured Friday will be Jake Fury of the television
show, Battledome. Actor Joe Penny, a Marina alum, and Survivor cast
member Gervase, also will be in attendance. For ticket information call

Huntington Valley Little League sign ups
Huntington Valley Little League will hold its next registration period
for the upcoming 2002 season Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at the league’s
playing field, Wardlow Field, at 9191 Pioneer Ave., near Magnolia St. and
Adams Ave.
All players must bring the following items for the registration
process: original birth certificate, proof of residency (current utility
bill with printed address) and payment for fees due. Any boy or girl age
5 to 16 as of July 31, 2002 who lives within the boundaries of Huntington
Valley Little League is eligible to sign up.
The costs per division are as follows: T-ball, $75; Minor A, B and
Majors, $90; Junior, $125, and Senior, $125.
Another registration date has been set for Dec. 15.
