Girls cross country: Sailors in third

Lauren Paul (19:00) placed sixth for Newport Harbor High in a
three-way Sea View League girls’ cross country meet Friday.
Newport Harbor lost to Woodbridge, 18-38, and Aliso Niguel, 21-34. The
Sailors rebounded with a victory over Laguna Hills, 24-31.Newport’s Lisa Evans (19:30) placed eighth, followed by Luisa Alvarado (20:07), who
placed 16th.
Courtney Marshall (20:08) placed 17th, Andi Sarris (20:12) took 19th,
Amanda Abbott (21:10) was 24th and Allison Hochwald (21:42) finished
28th.
Paul, Marshall and Sarris finished the race with their best times of
the season.
The Sailors are tied for third in league with Laguna Hills. Undefeated
Woodbridge is in first place.
The Sea View League finals will be held at Irvine Regional Park
Thursday.
