The family of a former Orange Coast College student who died in the
terrorist attack on the World Trade Center has established a memorial
fund in his honor.
Robert Jordan, 34, attended OCC from 1987 to 1989. He rowed for two
years on the college’s crew team and then transferred to UC Berkeley. He
had been working as a bond trader with Cantor Fitzgerald.
The memorial fund will go toward one of Jordan’s passions -- rowing.
It will be used to buy a new, state-of-the-art, eight-oared Empacher
rowing shell for the crew team.
The shell costs $35,000 and already $27,000 has been raised.
The shell will be named “the Rob Jordan” and will be delivered to the
team in the spring.
Donations for the boat may be sent to the Rob Jordan Memorial, c/o
