While many people are on edge because of threats of terrorism and

biological attack, UC Irvine will host a town hall meeting to discuss

security issues, civil liberty concerns and ethnic relations in light of

the terrorist attacks and the military action in Afghanistan.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday in Social Sciences

Lecture Hall 100.

Panelists will include Stephen Steinhauser, assistant special agent in

charge with the FBI; Dr. Maher Mathout, senior advisor, Muslim Public

Affairs Council; Daniel Tokaji, staff attorney with the American Civil

Liberties Union; and George Jaramillo, assistant sheriff with the Orange

County Sheriff’s Department.
