While many people are on edge because of threats of terrorism and
biological attack, UC Irvine will host a town hall meeting to discuss
security issues, civil liberty concerns and ethnic relations in light of
the terrorist attacks and the military action in Afghanistan.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday in Social Sciences
Lecture Hall 100.
Panelists will include Stephen Steinhauser, assistant special agent in
charge with the FBI; Dr. Maher Mathout, senior advisor, Muslim Public
Affairs Council; Daniel Tokaji, staff attorney with the American Civil
Liberties Union; and George Jaramillo, assistant sheriff with the Orange
County Sheriff’s Department.
