Huntington man named to grand jury

The Orange County Grand Jury has a new member and it’s a Huntington

Beach resident.

Presiding Judge C. Robert Jameson made the recent announcement that

Heriberto Soto, 66, was selected to serve on the 2001-02 Grand Jury.

Soto replaces Robert Ring, who was recently appointed to the Laguna

Wood City Council, and so must give up his position on the Grand Jury.

Soto began his service Monday after being sworn in July 2. His term

runs for one year.

“I’m excited, there’s a lot of responsibility, but it’s a challenge

that I hope more people will do,� Soto said.

The Grand Jury investigates and reports on the workings of public

agencies.
