WEATHER FORECAST
A few clouds will burn off early to make way for the sun to present
Newport-Mesans with a high just shy of 80. It’s getting a bit cooler at
night these days a low of about 62 hits the area.
Expect similar conditions with cooler temperatures on Tuesday.

BOATING FORECAST
While a light wind blows, patchy dense fog will dot the harbor in the
morning. By afternoon, southerly and southwesterly winds of 10 to 15
knots will do little to produce waves, which should roll about in 2-foot
range. Expect a southwest swell of 3 feet. Much the same in the night,
though will die down and the patchy fog will return.
Similar conditions will dominate out farther where a northwest swell
of 6 feet will be the only difference. Northwesterly winds will pick up
at night to the 10- to 20-knot range, which will produce waves of 2 to 3
feet.
SURF
It’s just another day at the beach, not exactly the kind of waves you
want to surf. Nope, may just want to kick back with the air conditioner
and television on in the old homestead.
Expect mostly knee- to waist-high waves with the occasional 4-footers.
Not only are they small, but they lack punch. It’s a great day to bring
the kids out, though. Anticipate much of the same come Tuesday.
