Retail Roundup
Talk about your Mickey Mouse promotions.
Aloha Airlines, which just had its first flight from John Wayne
Airport to Honolulu, announced the start, to the press at least, by
sending out Mickey Mouse Club ears with an attached little note.
“We’re all ears when it comes to providing our customers with the
creature comforts of home,” reads the note, which comes directly from
“your friends at Aloha Airlines.”
It doesn’t say anything about our buddies giving us more legroom or
what the increase in gas prices will do to the cost of that ticket from
here to Hawaii. But we figure that’s OK.
Who can worry when Mickey is smiling at you? (See answer below).
Fashion and spring mix together
Despite our on again, off again hot weather, spring apparently is
officially here, say the good folk at Chiasso, which has a store at
Fashion Island. And for the occasion, they have a ton of new items, which
are among “this season’s most charming and inspiring products.”
You want a Medusa lamp? You got it. Love plates? No problem. Canaglia
nail clippers? Umm, neither do we.
Those are just the items for adults. Kids can choose from a golf mat,
decorated milk glasses and a voice changer, which is a “cool megaphone.”
Oh, and we just saw this in Chiasso’s press release. “The
Spring/Summer Wedding Season is upon us.”
We always cry at weddings.
(That answer: A bunch of cranky journalists, even if we do weep like
babies sometimes.)
