Huntington Beach resident Jane Bauman was appointed to the full-time

faculty as an art professor at Coastline Community College. Bauman’s art

has appeared in movies such as “For Love of the Game” and on television

shows such as “Judging Amy” . . . Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Diana

Zulli of Huntington Beach has returned from a six-month deployment to the

Arabian Gulf while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln,

home ported in Bremerton, Wash. During the deployment, Zulli’s ship was

on station in the gulf supporting United Nations sanctions of the no-fly

zone over Southern Iraq and participating in maritime interception

operations. She is the daughter of Carmela and Joe Zulli of Huntington

Beach . . . Marine Corps Pvt. Efrain Lopez-Becerra of Fountain Valley

completed 12 weeks of training designed to challenge new recruits both

physically and mentally at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego.

Lopez-Becerra is a 2000 graduate of Los Amigos High School . . . Navy

Seaman Alvaro Carrillo of Fountain Valley is on a six-month deployment to

the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf while assigned to the aircraft

carrier USS George Washington, home ported in Norfolk, Va. Carrillo is a

1999 graduate of Los Amigos High School . . . Huntington Beach resident

Gregory Cernock received scholastic honors in the field of management at

Purdue University.
