A quartet of players representing the South Coast Metro Rotary Club
captured the 2001 Mazda/Orange Coast College Golf Tournament title held
April 2 at Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa.
The 110 golfers in the tournament raised $25,000 to support the
construction of a new $2-million arts pavilion on OCC’s campus. The
8,500-square-foot pavilion will be located next to the school’s new
$15-million state-funded arts center.
This marked the ninth year in a row that OCC has hosted a benefit golf
tournament to raise funds for the campus. So far the nine tournaments
have raised more than $250,000.
