Boys volleyball: CdM sweeps Mustangs

COSTA MESA - The Corona del Mar High boys volleyball team earned a
15-4, 15-5, 15-12 sweep over Pacific Coast League host Costa Mesa Tuesday
to remain firmly atop the league standings.
Ryan Inman had eight kills, while Brian Gallagher added seven to help
the Sea Kings improve to 6-2, 5-0 in league.
Costa Mesa Coach, Dave Sorrells had high praise for his team (1-8,
0-5).
“This was the first time all year we played three solid games,”
Sorrells said. “It just happened to be against the best team in the
league.”
Mike Payne and Carlos Jaime each had seven kills for the Mustangs,
while Payne added seven blocks. Sorrells said Eddie Moreno had his best
game of the season setting.
Mesa hosts crosstown rival Estancia Thursday at 4:15 p.m., while CdM
hosts Laguna Beach at 6 p.m.
