* Red Hill Avenue: Embezzlement was reported in the 3000 block at 3:10

p.m. Thursday.

* Smalley Road: Vandalism was reported in the 3400 block at 3:10 p.m.

NEWPORT BEACH

* Main Street: A burglary attempt was reportedly made at two stores in

the 100 block around 1 p.m. Thursday.

* West Oceanfront: Property worth about $5,000 was reported stolen

from the storage cabinet of a carport in the 1800 block at 2 p.m.

Thursday.

* Valencia Avenue: Annoying phone calls were reported in the 1500

block at 9:48 a.m. Thursday.
