Women’s basketball: Vanguard’s Huddle earns NAIA honors, again

COSTA MESA - Vanguard University senior Becki Huddle, who played
point guard for the Lions women’s basketball team, has earned NAIA
Honorable Mention All-America honors for the second time in her two-year
career.
Huddle finished as the only Lions player to start all 29 games this
season. She ended her college career last month when the Lions were
eliminated from the playoffs.
Huddle also closed out her career as a two-time All-Golden State
Athletic Conference selection and team captain for the Lions. She led
Vanguard this season in free throws made, assists, steals and minutes
played.
Huddle averaged 11.6 points per game, which was second on the team,
and grabbed 4.7 rebounds a game, third on the team.
She led the GSAC in assists with 5.76 per game and ranked among the
top three players in the NAIA all season. In addition, Huddle finished
with the 10th highest free throw shooting percentage in the GSAC this
season.
The two-time NAIA All-American ended her 64-game career at Vanguard
with 764 points, 392 assists and 325 rebounds. She averaged 11.9 points,
6.12 assists and 5.1 rebounds per contest.
