Orange County Night of Champions set for today

NEWPORT BEACH - The Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Athletes
in Action will host the third annual Orange County Night of Champions
today at 5 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.
Athletes, coaches and students from all over Orange County are invited
to the event, which will include interviews with USC and UCLA athletes
such as Carson Palmer and Billy Knight as well as San Diego Chargers
Coach Mike Sanford and running back Terrell Fletcher.
High schools who have athletes in attendance include Newport Harbor,
Corona del Mar, Aliso Niguel, Brea Olinda, Brethren Christian, Capistrano
Valley, Dana Hills, Edison, El Toro, Esperanza, Irvine, Marina, Mission
Viejo, Santa Ana, Tustin, University and Woodbridge, among others.
Former UCLA track and field standout Beth Niednagel will be in
attendance, as well as Cal State Fullerton track and field coach Ron
Kamaka.
A skateboarding park will also be available, beginning at 3 p.m.
Dinner and entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. with the main program set
for 7 p.m.
