Girls swimming: CdM swims past Estancia

CORONA DEL MAR - The Corona del Mar High girls swim team took the
top three in five events and swept the relays to earn a 114-49 Pacific
Coast League victory over visiting Estancia Wednesday.
CdM sophomore Niki Hendrickson completed a CIF consideration time when
she finished second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:04.65). She finished
ahead of teammate Hayley Sheetz, and behind the Sea Kings’ Lauren Powers.
Corona also swept in the 200 freestyle that Lindsay Daley won, the 200
individual medley that freshman Kimberly McKay won, the 500 freestyle
that Brittney Bolwus won and the 100 breaststroke that Hendrickson won.
Estancia senior Jennifer Cassity led an Eagles’ sweep in the 50
freestyle. she also grabbed second place in the 100 freestyle.
The Sea Kings will compete in the preliminaries of the CIF relays
today at the Belmont Plaza in Belmont Shore. They then take on PCL foe
University in a battle of league unbeatens, Wednesday at CdM at 3:15 p.m.
