Women’s basketball: Four Lions named NAIA scholar athletes

The NAIA has announced the All-American Scholar-Athlete honorees
for women’s basketball and four Vanguard University players made the
distinguished list, Jessica Lenderman, Rachel Fikse, Beth Weidler and
Kelly Boeke.
Lenderman, a junior guard from Ridgecrest, is an exercise sports
science major with a 4.0 grade-point average.
Fikse, a senior forward from Escondido, is a mathematics major with a
3.93 GPA.
Weidler, a junior guard, is a liberal studies major and carries a 3.6
GPA.
Boeke, a Fountain Valley High product, is a junior English major with
a 3.59 GPA.
Requirements for the NAIA Academic All-American team include a junior
or senior academic standing with at least a 3.5 GPA.
