Safi Qureshey, president of Skyline Ventures, Inc., will present a
seminar on the future of technology growth in Orange County at 5 p.m.
April 12 at the Sutton Place Hotel, 4500 MacArthur Blvd., Newport Beach.
The seminar will be part of a joint meeting between the Orange County
Chapters of the Assn. for Corporate Growth and the Finance Executives
Institute. There is no charge for members. The price for nonmembers is

Hard Rock to host Planned Parenthood benefit
Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino counties and the Hard
Rock Cafe in Newport Beach have teamed up for a benefit concert to
promote the release of the “Best Bands of Orange County” compilation CD.
The party will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight April 13 at the Hard
Rock Cafe, 451 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach. The event will also
be hosted to raise awareness about teen pregnancy prevention.
Five of the 22 Orange County bands featured on the CD will perform.
They are: The Futek Gods, Audio Karate, The Migs, Speakeasy and HB
Surroundsound.

White elephant sale at Lions Club fund-raiser
The Newport Beach Lions Club annual fund-raiser will take place at 1
p.m. April 28 at DeAnza Bayside Village South Clubhouse, 300 E. Coast
Highway, Newport Beach. The fund-raiser will benefit The Blindness
Foundation.
The event will include a BBQ, a white elephant sale and karaoke.

Course to teach about online auctions
EBay University, the program that teaches people how to buy and sell
on the online trading site, will come to Newport Beach April 21 and 22.
Courses will take place at 9 a.m. each day at the Newport Beach Marriott,
900 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach.
Thousands of people have already participated in eBay University
courses around the country. Participants will learn how to browse and
buy, basic selling techniques, advanced selling tips and how to improve
listings with photographs.

May festival to be berry delicious
The Second Annual Strawberry Sunday Fest will take place from 7 a.m.
to 4 p.m. May 6 at the Orange County Marketplace, 88 Fair Drive, Costa
Mesa. The event will include the Strawberry Classic Car, Truck and
Motorcycle Show, strawberry pie eating contests, fresh strawberry food
and beverage items and more. All red cars will receive free show
admission to the car show, which will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
