COSTA MESA - Santa Ana pitcher Renee Hietbrink struck out seven and
allowed just one hit as the Dons recorded a 14-1 Orange Empire Conference
softball victory at Orange Coast.
Coast’s Renee Snyder had the only base hit, an RBI bunt single in the
fourth inning.
Meredith Miles, who needs just one stolen base to set Coast’s career
mark for thefts, had one chance after walking, but was caught for only
the second time this season.
She has 24 for the season and 40 in her career, which ties her with
Kim Degree and Carrie Grimson on the Pirates’ all-time charts.
The Pirates fall to 6-16-1, 1-14 in the OEC. The Dons improve to 21-9,
9-3.
