Newport Beach Police Department detectives will host an informative
evening April 4 for parents of teens. The detectives will give parents
hints on how to determine if a child is abusing drugs or alcohol.
They will also talk about stages of drug usage, ways in which teens
buy or get drugs, Department of Motor Vehicle laws, parenting
suggestions, and the advantages and disadvantages of corporal punishment.
The free three-hour class will begin at 6 p.m. at the Newport Beach
Police Department, 870 Santa Barbara Drive. Seating is limited to the
first 40 people.
