A’s get past Angels, 11-1

Race Parmenter had two hits and allowed just one hit in four innings

of shutout ball last weekend to guide the Athletics in an 11-1 Majors

Division victory over the Angels at Huntington Valley Little League.

Parmenter singled and doubled in a nine-hit A’s attack that also

featured a double and single by Fred Thomas and a pair of singles by

Brian Wiktorksi.

Jimmy Queen’s double accounted for the lone hit by the Angels.

In other games:

Diamondbacks 11, Mariners 3

Andy Scott Webster and Stephen Toshiyuki each doubled and singled,

Patrick Hart singled twice, Jenna Balester and Eddie Clark had doubles

and Balester and Chase Barnes combined pitching efforts to allow two hits

and five strikeouts in four innings for the Diamondbacks. Chad Heberden

and Adam Martinazzi had the two hits for the Mariners.

White Sox 6, Rangers 4

Michael Bogard had two doubles and two RBI and drove home the winning

runs in the fourth inning and Sean King doubled to lead the White Sox.

Michael Wellwood doubled and Adam Sciarrillo pitched two scoreless

innings to pace the Rangers.

MINOR A DIVISION

Mets 8, Marlins 4

Pitcher Alex Menses struck out nine in six innings and also had a

single and double on offense, Sean Reimer singled twice and doubled and

Jake Gordon collected a pair of singles to power the Mets. Michael

Chairez tripled with an RBI, Johnny Thomas tripled and stole home and

Barry Luke had two singles for the Marlins.

Cardinals 11, Yankees 3

Dave Fogler and Tim Higgins each doubled, Robert McKinley doubled,

Nick Mazzone had three hits and two RBI and pitcher Ryan Little struck

out eight to lead the Cardinals. Ricky Marin had three hits for the

Yankees.

Dodgers 7, Indians 5

Robert Rahon singled twice for the Dodgers. Dalton Heikka doubled and

singled and Alex Holtz and Kyle Lueke each had two singles for the

Indians.

MINOR B DIVISION

Marlins 17, Yankees 7

Josh Hammer, Alex Talbert and Scott Gruver all doubled for the

Marlins. Jordan Condrey singled twice and Luke Holler had a double for

the Yankees.

Dodgers 9, Cardinals 8

Erik Kichline singled three times, Jordan Singh had two hits and Ben

Hunt doubled for the Dodgers. Kyle Insley singled twice and pitcher

Houston Hill allowed two hits and struck out eight for the Cardinals.

White Sox 14, Cubs 7

Jake Little went 3 for 3 with a double and Chris Gillen and Michael

Pellegrino each had two singles to lead the White Sox. Scott Martin hit a

home run and doubled, Josh Roque singled and doubled and Jerry Lemmons

had two hits for the Cubs.
