Softball: Lions split doubleheader with Cal Baptist
RIVERSIDE - The Vanguard University softball split a doubleheader
with host Cal Baptist in Golden State Athletic Conference action Tuesday.
The Lions (19-9, 5-1 in conference) dropped the opening game, 4-3, but
regrouped and blanked the Lancers, 8-0, in the nightcap.
Cal Baptist took advantage of three Lions’ errors to score four
unearned runs in the opener, but Vanguard pitchers Alysia Atchley and
Cheri Smith held the Lancers to only one hit in Game 2.
