Girls Swimming: CdM quick in league opener

LAGUNA BEACH - The Corona del Mar High girls swim team got off to a

strong start and never let down as the Sea Kings began the Pacific Coast

League with a 119-50 win at Laguna Beach Wednesday.

CdM (2-1, 1-0) grabbed top honors in all events but one.

Sea King freshman Vivian Liao finished with two CIF-qualifying times

when she took first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.27) and the 100

freestyle (55.46).

Sophomore Jackie McCoy grabbed first in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.92)

with a CIF-qualifying time. Freshman Kim McKay qualified for the CIF meet

and won the 200 freestyle (2:01.46).
