Baseball: Lions hammer Baker University
COSTA MESA - A message to Baker University: You’re not in Kansas
anymore.
The Vanguard University baseball team welcomed the Kansas-based
University to Southern California and promptly dismantled the Wildcats
and their dog, Toto, 24-0.
The Lions (17-9) pounded out 19 hits and took advantage of 15 Wildcat
walks for the win.
VU’s Matt Tisthammer led the way with four hits, three RBIs and five
runs scored. Tom Baeder and Curt Garner each had three RBIs, while Jeremy
Isherwood chipped in three hits, three runs scored and two RBIs.
Chad Chop pitched six innings of one-hit ball with five strikeouts to
improve to 1-1.
