Beerer’s dinger wins it, 12-11

CYPRESS - Scott Beerer belted a two-out home run in the 10th inning

to lift Orange Coast College to a 12-11 Orange Empire Conference baseball

victory at Cypress College Tuesday.

Cypress had rallied with four runs in the bottom of the ninth to send

the game, which lasted 3 hours, 45 minutes, into extra innings.

Beerer (Newport Harbor High) and teammate Ryan Marcos were each 4 for

6 in the Pirates’ 15-hit attack, while Glenn Hedgpeth, who started at

shortstop, had a three-run homer and was the winning pitcher.

Coast improves to 14-5, 4-3 in the OEC. Cypress is 14-6, 4-3.
