Dora Taylor of Aliso Viejo has joined the Costa Mesa offices of IA, a
global workplace solutions firm, as a project manager. Taylor brings to
the IA team more than 12 years of experience in architecture and
interiors in the areas of commercial interiors, hospitality projects and
tenant improvements. . . . The Junior League of Orange County, California
Inc., based in Newport Beach, recently hosted a night of festivities
while raising funds for Orange County children’s programs in its seventh
annual Monte Carlo Night at South Coast Plaza’s The Clubhouse Restaurant.
The fund-raiser has raised more than $300,000 over the past six years. .
. . Jay Skenderian and Ken Morgan of the Newport Beach-based Morgan
Skenderian Investment Real Estate Group helped Granite Riverside LLC of
Newport Beach to sell an 88-unit apartment complex in Riverside for $3.3
million, as well as helped to sell a 16-unit apartment complex in
Fullerton for $965,000 to Menlo Family Ltd. of Costa Mesa. They also
helped to sell a 26-unit apartment complex in Fullerton to Paul Dunlap of
Fullerton for $1.85 million, and helped to sell another 16-unit
apartment complex in Anaheim for $1 million. . . . Kristin Maberry, a
senior at Newport Harbor High School, has completed her Gold Award
Project. She is a senior Girl Scout in Odyssey Troop 859. She built a
playhouse that she will donate to the Heritage House in Costa Mesa. . . .
Capital Pacific Holdings of Newport Beach has sold a 55,282-square-foot
office complex in Laguna Beach for $9.55 million. The space was sold to
Sav-Most Desert Rancho, a Laguna Beach-based private investor. . . .
Genevieve Peterson and Christine Poda of the Orange County Council Boy
Scouts of America in Costa Mesa attended the last series of basic
professional training at the Center for the Professional Development in
Texas. Peterson and Poda joined 45 other professional Scouters from
across the nation for the weeklong course focusing on management,
fund-raising and sales. . . . More than 225 Orange County high school
students attended Orange Coast College’s 17th annual High School Dance
Day on March 7. Four classes were offered for students interested in a
career in dance. . . . Newport Beach-based John Laing Homes received
three awards at The Nationals, the largest competition for new-home sales
and marketing professionals and communities. . . . Navin Watumull and
Craig Levine of Newport Beach made the dean’s list for the fall and
winter 2000 semester at Tufts University in Massachusetts. . . . Navy Lt.
Eric N. Pfister, son of Andrea and Nelson Pfister of Newport Beach,
visited Mahe, Seychelles archipelago, during a six-month deployment to
the western Pacific Ocean and Arabian Gulf while assigned to the
amphibious assault ship Tarawa. . . . Newport Beach-based Point B Inc.,
announced it has been selected as the agency of record for the new Pain
Management Technologies business of Bard Access Systems, a global leader
in the access device technology market. Point B is a full-service
strategic marketing communications agency specializing in highly
