SAN DIEGO - Newport Harbor High’s boys volleyball team made some

noise at the San Diego Tournament of Champions, hosted by Francis Parker

High, with a three-match sweep of pool play action at Scripps Ranch High

Friday.

Coach Dan Glenn’s Tars handled host Scripps Ranch in the first of

three pool games, 15-5, 15-9, with Erik Peterson pacing the attack with

10 kills.

respectively.

Bullard High’s Knights, seeded No. 4, were the next to feel the pain

as Harbor posted a 15-7, 15-12 victory. Tippett led the way with 15

kills.

The 32-team tournament turns into a 16-team tourney today with the top
