Lakers cruise past Bruins, 47-30

The Lakers won their fourth game of the season last Sunday, beating
the Bruins, 47-30, in a Fountain Valley National Junior Basketball boys’
Division I game.
Viet Nguyen lead the Lakers with 15 points, Alex Le contributed 12 and
Guy Garcia had eight.
Jeff Chang led the defensive charge for the Lakers, who improved to
4-5, despite going 0-for-38 from the three-point line.
Ramon Melikian scored 17 points and Adam Kennedy finished with 10 for
the Bruins.

Barons 48, Knicks 34
Stuart Schultz had 15 points and Dillon Gearin had eight to lead the
Baron offense.
Matt Randol, Erik Rhoten and Michael Li each finished with five
rebounds to help the Barons dominate the boards.
DIVISION III
Bombers 44, L’il Barons 27
The winless L’il Barons led the division-leading Bombers by five at
the half, but, due to a depleted lineup, were outscored, 30-8, in the
second half.
Austin Israelsky led the L’il Barons with nine points. A.J. Mymon was
the L’il Barons leading rebounder, and scored his first two field goals
of the season. Teammates Scott Baker and Benjamin Chang also scored their
first points of the season.
6TH-GRADE ALL-NET
Fountain Valley 57, Aliso Niguel 33
Corey Ferraro scored 14 points and Andrew Bender and Philip Darin
scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, as Fountain Valley ran its Coastal
Division record to 6-2 (third place).
7TH-GRADE ALL-NET
Long Beach 54, Fountain Valley No. 1 49
Close games have become the norm for Fountain Valley No. 1 (2-7),
which had rallied to tie the score at 49-49 with just under a minute to
play.
Samer Haddad scored a season-high 35 points and also had 15 rebounds
and four steals to lead Fountain Valley.
