West Huntington Beach rolls, 44-12

The West Huntington Beach boys’ third and fourth grade National

Junior Basketball team remained perfect on the season last Sunday by

blasting Westminster, 44-12.

The victory was the fifth straight for first place West Huntington

Beach, which received a game-high 16 points from Tanner Phillips.

Trevor Springman added eight points and Keith DeLawer scored seven,

while Daniel O’Keefe and Colin Sedwick-Dunlap paced the West Huntington

Beach defense.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY NJB

DIVISION 1

Jabberwalkies 45, Wolverines 27

Chris Debowski came up with another big game, this time with a 21

point, eight rebound, four steal effort, to lead the Jabberwalkies.

Guards Tyler Killian and Ryan Stehle chipped in six points each, Matt

Derocili and Jeff Millard came up with five rebounds each, and Sean Gates

and Taylor Grosso combined for eight points to complete the

Jabberwalkies’ attack.

DIVISION 2

Bruins 33, Knicks 29

In a seesaw battle, Kevin Deherrera netted 10 points and Brandon Kurz

scored seven points as the Bruins (2-3) pulled out the victory over the

Knicks (2-3), who were led by Tyler Petry’s 13 points, and six points by

Chase Barnes.

Fountain Valley 55, FV Barons 32

Fountain Valley used a 16-1 run at the game’s outset and used an

dominating inside game to down the Barons, who received eight points by

Erik Rhoten, seven by Rick Rea and six by Dillon Gearin. Matthew Randol

had a team high five rebounds.
