Toshiba Senior Classic tickets on sale for the holidays

NEWPORT BEACH - Tickets are on sale now for the 2001 Toshiba Senior Classic, the Senior PGA Tour stop at Newport Beach Country Club.

Good-any-one-day tickets are once again priced at $14 between now the

beginning of tournament week (Feb. 26 through March 4). Gate prices are

$15 Monday through Thursday during tournament week and $18 Friday through

Sunday, all unchanged from the 2000 event.

Week-long Grounds Badges are $50 and Season Clubhouse Badges are $100,

prices that are also the same as last March, when Allen Doyle won the

rain-shortened Toshiba Classic.

“We want the Toshiba Senior Classic to be affordable,” tournament

director Jeff Purser said. “It’s hard to find a better deal in sports

than $14 for a full day of watching players like Lee Trevino, Hale Irwin,

Chi Chi Rodriguez, Tom Kite and Tom Watson.”

Arnold Palmer played in the Toshiba Classic last year for the first

time.

A special holiday ticket package is being offered to golf fans for the

first time: Four good-any-one-day tickets and four sleeves of golf balls

with the Toshiba Senior Classic logos for $65. The deal is valid through
