Corona del Mar will have its 22nd annual Christmas Walk from 11 a.m.
to 4 p.m. Sunday. The event will include entertainment, children’s games,
prizes and a Toys for Tots drive. To participate in the toy drive, you
can bring a new, unwrapped toy that will be distributed for charity.
There will also be an opportunity drawing to win prizes that are valued
from $25 to $2,680. Participating merchants will sell tickets for $1
each, or $10 for 11. Santa Claus will be on hand for complimentary
photos, and Frosty the Snowman will make an appearance. Entertainment
will be provided by carolers, strolling musicians, a balloon-maker and a
magic show called “Magic of the Holiday” will take place in front of the
library.
There’s an amazing selection of orchid plants at low prices at Green
Systems International. It’s open this weekend for its first Saturday of
each month sale. The wholesale tropical nursery is open from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m. today and Sunday. It’s known as Newport Beach’s only commercial

The Christmas Tree Jamboree is back in its 11th year of selling
beautiful Christmas tress at low prices. This year, the trees from the
Pacific Northwest are priced from $32.95 for a noble fir, grand fir and
Douglas fir. The balsam firs from Nova Scotia are priced from $39.95, and
the Fraser firs from North Carolina are priced from $39.95. Small trees
are priced from $14.95. The Christmas tree Jamboree is at the Newport
Dunes in Newport Beach. Look for the coupon in today’s paper for a saving
of $2 off on a 20-inch or 24-inch noble fir wreath.
Bellissima Designer Consignment Boutique is moving into the former
Orangewood Boutique location in Corona del Mar. The move, which is going
on this week, will take Bellissima from its Poinsettia Avenue location in

Fashion Island is geared up for the holidays. The country’s largest
Christmas tree -- a 115-foot white fir -- is towering over the
Bloomingdale’s Courtyard, and Santa’ Village is in full swing nearby. The
Fashion Island management team recommends that if you want to beat the
crowds at Santa’s Village, visit Santa on weekday mornings and weekends
before noon. Once inside Santa’s tiny cottage, you’ll be able to buy a
photo with Santa, a memorable holiday keepsake, with a portion of the
photo proceeds going toward HomeAid Orange County, a nonprofit
organization that builds shelters for the homeless. To make shopping
easier at Fashion Island, there is a valet parking service during all
center hours for $5 now through Dec. 26. The valet is between
Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus.
There’s a year-end clearance sale going on at Decor Contemporary
Furnishings. All floor models are reduced 20% to 50%. There’s also
savings on special orders. The furniture selection includes modern coffee
