Golden Warriors blank Fireballs, 4-0

Adam Black scored two goals and assisted a third Saturday to lead the

Golden Warriors in a 4-0 shutout of the Fireballs in AYSO Region 5 boys’

Under-8 Division action.

Brian Katz and Jacob Gillett also scored, and the defensive play of

Gregory Katz, Matthew Sudyka, Rocco Hipolito and Jason Mar combined in

goal for the shutout as the Golden Warriors handed the Fireballs their

first defeat of the season.

BOYS’ UNDER-11 DIVISION

CFC The Wave 4, Laguna Beach 1

Nick Becker scored two goals, Alex Loeffelman scored once with an

assist, Alex Gallardo’s shot from the right wing hit the far post for the

final goal, Gallardo and Jordan Black paced the defense, and Max Volz was

solid in goal for the Wave, now in second place with a 5-2-1 record.

BOYS’ UNDER-12 DIVISION

Dark Stars 4, Tigers 2

Farouk Mansour netted a pair of goals, Kai Brose and Matt Marion each

added a goal, and Alan Priester and goalkeeper Stephen Ordonez led the

defense for the Dark Stars.

Aaron Onaga and Riley Camarillo both scored a goal, and the pair also

was outstanding on defense for the Tigers.

GIRLS’ UNDER-10 DIVISION

Tiger Sharks 3, Poison Blossoms 0

Andrea Ecker scored twice, and Christine Thiebert accounted for the

other goal for the Tiger Sharks, who also received solid play from Maria

Pena and goalkeeper Holli Floetker, who got the shutout. Allison Marion,

April Bennett and Tattiana Benfield played strong games for the Poison

Blossoms.

No Fear 2, Yellow Vipers 0

Nique Phetchanpheng scored both goals, and Traci Biedermann’s

defensive effort helped get No Fear past a Yellow Vipers squad that was

led by Katelyn Lynem, Michelle Knoski, Justine Ibach, Jennifer Schultz

and Marina Erickson.

Black Widows 3, Santa Ana 0

Goals by Kelsy Waldron, Courtney Kronmuller and Denise Figueroa led a

dominating performance by the Black Widows.

GIRLS’ UNDER-14 DIVISION

Huntington Beach Stars 0, Rancho Santa Margarita 0

Alexandra Jaspers came up with the defensive play of the game with a

header near the goal that deflected a potential score as the Stars

(5-1-1) shut down a high-scoring Rancho Santa Margarita squad. Ashley

Beanblossom, Ann Ludolph, Hilary Pohlman, Lindsey Rodgers and Emily Tims

turned in strong defensive performances, as did goalkeepers Kristin

Coleman and Gena Johnson.
