Letter to the Editor

Election time is rolling around again. Time to vote in our local

elections. This is the new millennium, and it is time for us to change

the direction the city is headed.

The city of Costa Mesa needs a change.

For too long, we have elected officials whose only concern has been

business. They have made promises that have never been kept.

The West Side has been especially hard hit. What once was a vital part

of the city has become the dirty laundry of the City Council. We have

seen “middle class flight” simply because we gave up. It’s now time to

take charge.

For the first time in the history of Costa Mesa, we have a chance to

really change the face of this city. Not just the West Side, but the

entire city. Not just cosmetic changes, but a face lift that will shake

up and wake up the residents. We can put three new faces on the council.

We have been complacent too long. People don’t get out and vote.

Why? That’s easy. As we have heard so many times before, they believe

their vote won’t change anything.

Well, that stops now. A clean sweep is possible. All it takes is three

new faces and we have changed the complexion of Costa Mesa forever.

Get out and vote Costa Mesa! Let’s clean house.
