Raiders defeat Dark Stars, 4-2

With four players breaking into the scoring column, the Raiders on

Sunday broke away from a halftime tie and went on to defeat the Dark

Stars, 4-2, in an AYSO Region 5 (Fountain Valley/Westminster) boys’

Under-12 Division soccer match.

Nathan Le, Danny Cortez, Cameron Keith and Freddy Cortez each scored

single goals for the Raiders.

Vituran Arulmoli led a strong defensive effort, and Jordan Goodness

directed the midfield for the Raiders.

Matt Marion led the Dark Stars with two goals, Kai Brose starred at

midfield, and Alan Priester pace the defensive unit.

In other matches:

Santa Ana 2, Red Devils 1

Brian Cordiero’s goal in the 38th minute brought the Red Devils within

one, but Allen Munoz’s two goals proved to be enough for Santa Ana.

UNDER-11 DIVISION

CFC The Wave 5, San Juan 1

Alex Loeffelman led the way with three goals and two assists, Nick

Becker scored once with two assists, and Jason Frazier added another

score for The Wave.

UNDER-10 DIVISION

Perfect Storm 4, Enforcers 2

Muhammad Madkour and Nam Pham each scored two goals, and Matt Souders

and John Carrell played well at both ends of the field for the Perfect

Storm. Garrett Onaga and Michael Ibach both scored, and Stephan Khamis

and Brandon Nguyen had strong games for the Enforcers.

UNDER-8 DIVISION

Golden Warriors 4, Blue Bombers 3

Down 3-1 at the half, the Golden Warriors stormed back in the second

half as Adam Black scored two of his three goals, and Jacob Gillett

scored once. Matthew Sudyka and Rocco Hipolito also had big games for the

Golden Warriors.

GIRLS’

UNDER-12 DIVISION

Space Cowgirls 5, Girls with Attitude 1

Alma Sanchez scored two goals; Keisha Mattinson, Alyssa Hefner, and

Nicole Burke each scored once; and Julie Nisco paced the defense for the

Space Cowgirls. Jillian Luke scored the lone goal for Girls with

Attitude.
