Club soccer: OCU Rush blank Los Gauchos of Redlands
COSTA MESA - The Orange Coast United Rush girls under 12 club
soccer team defeated Los Gauchos of Redlands, 5-0, Saturday, to finish
the first half of the Coast Soccer League season in first place.
Cindy Mendoza scored two goals for the Rush, while Robin Ibbetson,
Courtney Anderson and Brittany Koster each added single goals.
Goalkeeper Tori Rocke was strong in goal to preserve the shutout,
while solid defense was turned in by Amanda Shaw, Elyse VanLeer, Jennifer
Powell, Amy Staudinger, Jaque Anderson, Samantha Castillo, Sasha Key and
Brianna Baker.

JUSA Select 2, OCU Sting 1 - The Sting, a boys under 19 silver elite
team had its six-game winning streak snapped with the loss.
Trailing, 2-0, in the second half, Jordan Christian scored to close
the gap, while Ryan Lancaster, Brian Walton, Brendan Fenno, Jose Perez,
Chasen Marshall, Brian Henry, Justin Collins, Billy Lund, Scott Nickerson
and Chris Baez sparked numerous offensive opportunities.
The defense, led by David Jenkins, Bijan Ewalt, Jeff Kinkopf and Sam
Coons, kept the Select off the scoreboard in the second half.
