AYSO Region 120: Cosmic Blast double up San Clemente
The Cosmic Blast, a boys under APP team from AYSO Region 120,
defeated San Clemente, 4-2, Saturday.
Rigo Miranda, Trevor McDonald, Marco Soto and Kyle Kell each scored
goals for the Cosmic Blast.
After jumping out to a 2-0 lead, the Cosmic Blast saw San Clemente
come back to tie the score. But with solid passing and stubborn defense,
the Blast prevailed.
In boys under 12 action:
Red Wings 3, Fighting Irish 1 - Kenneth Zich broke the scoreless tie
with a fourth-quarter goal and added two more goals, leading the RedWings
to victory over the Fighting Irish.
Nick Ippolito, Roger Infranca, Eddie Bello, Brandon Esping, Jonathan
Scrantom, and Matt Peterka used solid passing to set up Zich’s goals,
while on defense, Angel Garcia, Nick Vinon, Nick Straubel, Josh Berry,
Josh Young and Marion Osorno held the Fighting Irish to only one goal.
The RedWings, in a convincing win over the injury-plagued Black
Widows, had two first-half goals from Straubel, while Zich, Ippolito,
Bello, Esping and Vinson each added second-half goals.
In boys under 10 action:
Gladiators 6, Blue Jets 2 - The Gladiators were led by Garrett
Frazier, Qusai Bahaijeewala, Kyle Eldridge and Derek Salgado on offense,
while David Felix, Marc De Frenza, Zachary Noon, Evan Edison, Anthony
Flores and Rigoberto Perez anchored the defense.
For the Blue Jets, Ryan Molaskey, Ariel Diaz and Mathew Glascock led
the charge.
Tigers 2, Team #7 0 - Drake Brunette scored both goals for the Tigers,
while Yacet Acosta and Hector Solis played a strong midfield, creating
many scoring opportunities.
On defense for the Tigers, Scott Essen, Jake Ferris and Elijah Talley
were all strong.
In girls under 8 action:
The Laker Girls, in their game against the Pandas, were led
offensively by Kylee Stone with two goals and strong midfield play from
Andy Chavez and Christy Brown.
Forwards Evelyn Manning and Kristen McCormack also sparked the offense
for the Laker Girls, while Gracie Brestel and Leah Woodside played a
strong defense.
