BRIEFLY IN THE NEWS
The city of Costa Mesa and the Costa Mesa Sanitary District will be
collecting old tires that will be recycled into new products.
Worn or discarded tires may be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
today at the city’s corporation yard, 2300 Placentia Ave., across from
Estancia High School.
Tires must be removed from wheels. Each resident can drop off a
maximum of four tires. Commercial businesses are not eligible to
participate.
Last year, 62 tires were collected in a similar roundup. The old tires
can be recycled and used as playground coverings for schools or for
rubberized asphalt.
