Boys water polo: Mustangs stuck in water

IRVINE - Mike Whitman’s five goals were not nearly enough at the

Costa Mesa High boys water polo team fell at University, 26-6, Wednesday,

in Pacific Coast League action.

Chasen Marshall also scored for the Mustangs (4-8, 0-2 in conference).

For University (11-6, 2-0), 12 different players scored goals as the

Trojans jumped out to a 9-1 first-quarter lead and never looked back.

Costa Mesa will compete in the Magnolia Tournament, beginning Friday
